Responsibilities
The incumbent supports Clinical Laboratory functions through the handling of incoming phone calls to the lab the verbal communication or faxing of results the maintenance and organization of lab records and reference lab reports the typing/word processing of policies/procedures and memos the transportation of specimens and miscellaneous charging/crediting activities.
The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy General Hospital and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least one (1) year medical background experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Computer keyboard, type quickly and accurately.
  • Communicate well with others.
  • Reqd, write and understand English.
  • Use courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitor and hospital staff.
  • Maintain patient confientiality.
  • Work effectively under multiple priorities and adjust priorities as circumstances require.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details.
