Overview

CHI Health- Lakeside will do on-the-job training for a Surgical Tech if you have聽completed an accredited medical personnel program such as but not limited to CNA, MA, LPN, EMT I / II, or SPD tech who are willing to do on the job training with a structured competency regimen.


Responsibilities
10 hr shifts (0630-1700), four days per week with a rotating day off with call required.

Our Surg Techs ensure that the operating areas are sterile and clean while confirming all equipment needed works properly. What you鈥檒l do:
  • Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
  • Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
  • Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
  • Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
  • Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
  • Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or completion of on the job training as a scrub tech with minimum of 5 years' experience or Completion of an accredited medical personnel program such as but not limited to CNA, MA, LPN, EMT I / II, or SPD tech who are willing to do on the job training with a structured competency regimen.

Basic Life Support (BLS) required
